 LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF…I am well known in the town of Tombstone, Arizona as TRASH-E TRICIA. I fondly acquired that name rather quickly after moving to Tombstone ten years ago, due to the flamboyant, fabulous, down right TRASH-E saloon dresses I designed for myself. I opened my first costume rental shop in Tombstone in 2001. I realized that tourists would love nothing more than to spend their day in town dressed as a saloon gal, or proper lady, on the arm of a well dressed Gambler or a dusty old cowboy. I was also the first in Tombstone to do custom weddings, being able to dress entire wedding parties with as many as 30 people, making it appear that it truly was a late 1800 style wedding.
My rental clothing shop was a huge success. I opened my doors on November 9, 2001 with only three saloon dresses to rent. By the end of my second year my inventory was worth well over 300 outfits. Where did it all come from in those 24 months? The inventory came from spending 12 - 15 hours a day sewing my little heart out. I made everything in my shop except boots, belts, and hats.
Once the local re-enactors started to see how awesome the tourists looked in my “period correct“ rental clothing, they started to order special, custom, one of a kind period outfits from me. I would like to say at this point that this is what CUSTOM sewing is all about, One-Of-A-Kind. I will never make the same outfit “twice”. I might use the same material, but never, ever the same design. One-Of-A- Kind is what I pride myself on. You can walk into a lot of stores that sell re-enactor clothing and buy the same dress, skirt, blouse, shirt or pants with the same material, same buttons, same everything. The only difference being the size you wear. Not in my shop!
My VICTORIAN hats are also my pride. All my hats are hand sewn and completely finished all the way around, inside and out. Some times, many times around depending how many layers of material and lace I have on the outer rim. You will never get a hat pin through a hat that is hot glued to the base (besides hot glue hadn’t been invented in the 1800’s). Remember “period correct “ is mandatory for serious re-enactor's.
The other aspect of my business that I have always prided myself on is the cost of my custom sewing. I have spent the last ten years trying to find the best material, lace, thread, needles, etc, right down to my sewing machine oil, trying to keep my cost down so that I can keep your cost down. I would rather dress you in two beautiful hats or outfits than have you only wear one because that is all you could afford to buy.
With my shop in Tombstone being a huge success over the last ten years, I feel it is now time to get with the times and try out this internet shop. I know there are millions of re-enactors out there who will never make a trip to Tombstone, AZ. This way you will also be able to buy my hats and other items I have created, maybe even order custom made outfits. Who knows if you’ll decide to buy and dare to wear, one of my special designed saloon outfits. You might also become down right Trash-E and be one of my “Floozies-In-Training“. And for all you “ladies” out there blushing at that lewd thought, well I can make you as prim and proper as Sunday Morning.
For all the wonderful families out there that make living history a true family event, remember I also make children's clothing. My sewing consists of period clothing from 1700's through 1930’s. Please allow plenty of time on your custom orders, for I am only one woman with one sewing machine.
